Let's Get Acquainted

‘There is no key to happiness, the door is always open’

(Mother Teresa)

My name is Aanika. I am a mental health and wellbeing consultant, educator, and podcast host, with over 17 years’ experience working in education and mental health leadership.

Born in Glasgow and raised in London within a Sikh Punjabi family, I identify strongly as a British Asian woman. Growing up between traditional expectations at home and the realities of modern British society, I experienced first-hand the complexities of identity, belonging, and finding one’s voice. Like many, this journey was not straightforward — but it shaped the person and professional I am today.

My work is informed by both professional training and lived experience. I am a qualified Maths teacher and former Senior Mental Health Lead, and I am currently completing an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health. Alongside this, my own life experiences — navigating challenge, self-doubt, relationships, and change — have given me a deep understanding of what it means to feel stuck, unheard, or unsure of the way forward.

I believe meaningful change does not come from perfection or status, but from honesty, reflection, and courage. While I may not have climbed mountains or written bestselling books, I have lived experiences that many people quietly carry — and it is from this place that I connect with others.

Through my work, I aim to support those who feel overwhelmed, unseen, or uncertain, helping them reconnect with their inner strength and sense of agency. My approach blends evidence-based practice, human experience, and mindfulness, rooted in a philosophy of inner freedom (moksha) and practical outcomes. I am passionate about creating spaces where people feel safe to reflect, learn, and grow — and where wellbeing is approached with compassion, realism, and hope.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is this: meaningful change is always possible — and it begins with awareness, choice, and the willingness to take the first step.
